At the Annual Membership Meeting of the Westmoreland Bar Association held on Monday, April 6th at Rizzo’s Banquet Hall, Maria E. Soohey assumed the office of president. She is General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer of Aestique Medical Center, a health care facility that provides multispecialty surgical services and spa services in a unique environment. Attorney Soohey also opened a part-time law office, Soohey Law, LLC, in 2009. Her primary areas of law include business, health care, elder law and estate planning. Ms. Soohey is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University School of Law.

Attorney Soohey succeeds Joseph Lazzaro, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Keystone Collections Group. Additional elections included: Attorney John M. Noble to the office of President-elect, Timothy Andrews to Vice President, and Margaret Maloy Tremba to a three-year term on the Board of Directors.

The Westmoreland Bar Association, established in 1886, is a voluntary legal organization of almost 500 members and includes local attorneys and county, federal, and appellate court judges.
