The Office of the Westmoreland County Court Administrator is taking over duties as the new publisher of local rules. The office will continue to publish the local rules in accordance with the requirements of state law, and will continue to make all rules, including any new local rules or amendments available to subscribers. We are pleased to be able to provide you continued access to local rules and updates free of charge. We hope that our new system will provide simple and expedient access to our local rules. Judge David Regoli will not be hearing civil nor orphans’ court motions on Friday, October 30th, 2015 and November 20th, 2015.
Counsel should make arrangements to present motions on a prior or subsequent Friday.

After a year of research, fundraising and planning, Westmoreland County is poised to begin its drug court program later this month as a means to help curb the addiction problem in the region.
Fifty participants will eventually be enrolled in the program, which will allow some who are charged with felonies to have their cases downgraded to misdemeanors, and others accused of less serious counts to have their cases dismissed.
Judge Marsili will not be hearing civil or orphans’ court motions on Friday, September 25, 2015, or Friday, October 2, 2015. Counsel should make arrangements to present motions on prior or subsequent Fridays.
President Judge McCormick, Jr. will not be hearing civil or orphans' court motions on the following Fridays:
In President Judge McCormick, Jr.'s absence, time sensitive motions can be presented before Judge Regoli on all 3 dates and before Judge Marsili on September 18th and October 9th only.
Effective immediately there is a new Order that must be used for when petitioning for an adult criminal forensic mental health evaluation. The Order to be used can be found on the Westmoreland County Website under, Courts, Criminal, Criminal forms. Questions may be directed to the Court Administrator’s Office, 724.830.3828 or 724.830.3829.
Effective September 1, 2015, The Register of Wills Office will be requiring a death certificate upon the death of the Incapacitated person. The death certificate MUST be attached to the Suggestion of Death/Final Guardian Report. Without the death certificate, these documents will NOT be accepted for filing.

On July 10, 2015, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a bill into law, requiring that district judges and police receive training in mental health, autism and intellectual disabilities, all of which can affect a person's behavior and interactions with law enforcement.
