WBA Lawyer Referral Service Attorney Eligibility Requirements
In addition to being members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Westmoreland Bar Association, participating lawyers must agree in writing to:
- Carry, and continue to carry, professional liability insurace with minimum coverage of $100,000 per claim/$300,000 annual aggregate and provide a certificate of such insurance to the Lawyer Referral Service.
- Agree to notify the Westmoreland Bar Association immediately if, for any reason, their insurance coverage terminates or changes in any way, and authorize the WBA to confirm coverage directly with their insurance carriers.
- Verify that they are members in good standing before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
- Agree that, in the event of any fee dispute between the participating attorney and the LRS client, and at the client's request, all disputes shall be submitted to the WBA Fee Dispute Committee.
Note: Participants in the experience panels certify that they have the practice level and educational requirements to register under the experience panel. Participants in these areas must also carry additional amounts of malpractice insurance.
