Attention Court-Appointed Counsel

The guidelines for court appointed counsel have been updated effective immediately and are available from the Court Administrator’s office, Room M10. If you do not have a copy of the revised guidelines, please come to the Court Administrator’s to obtain a copy. There are important changes to the billing process. Thank you!

Attention Court-Appointed Attorneys

Pursuant to the court appointed attorney guidelines, court appointed counsel is asked to submit Fee Petitions on a timely basis. For criminal cases, fee petitions should be submitted at the conclusion of the preliminary hearing and quarterly thereafter for each case, excluding capital cases, which shall be submitted monthly.  For family cases, petitions should be submitted after each review hearing and/or case disposition. Reminder: Family Court-Appointed Attorneys

All attorneys and Guardian Ad Litems on the court-appointed lists in juvenile delinquency, Children’s Bureau, termination of parental rights, and adoption cases must, beginning on January 1, 2011, annually receive three (3) hours of CLE credits devoted to juvenile delinquency court, the Child Protective Services Law on abuse, or the Adoption Act on terminations and adoptions. Proof of these CLE credits must be submitted to the Family Court Administrator.

Attention Court-Appointed Attorneys

Pursuant to the court appointed attorney guidelines, court appointed counsel is asked to review the current guidelines stating, “The Court Administrator will make copies of documents for court appointed counsel without charge. Copying costs will not be reimbursed unless approved by the Court”. Please give advanced notice of at least three days if this service is necessary. ATTENTION COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEYS: Pursuant to the recently revised court appointed attorney guidelines, court appointed counsel is asked to submit Fee Petitions on a timely basis. Unless otherwise ordered, petitions for each case shall be submitted monthly for all capital cases, and quarterly for all other cases until representation is concluded.
